Why the base decides everything
Cracked paving that has settled, walls that tilt, puddles on the terrace — the cause is almost never the visible layer but the build-up beneath it. Depending on ground and load, a frost-resistant build-up needs roughly 30 to 50 centimetres, placed and compacted in layers. Cutting corners here does not show in the first year but after the second or third winter — by which time the finished surface sits on top of it.
Our own excavator means one date and one contact
Because we carry out the earthworks ourselves, your date does not depend on another firm’s schedule. Excavation, sub-grade and the paving or stonework that follows run as one sequence — with no handover point at which two trades can push responsibility back and forth. On tight plots we work with correspondingly small machines and agree the access route with you beforehand.

Frequently asked questions
Where does the excavated soil go?
We haul it away and dispose of it properly. The cost depends on the soil class — clean topsoil is considerably cheaper than contaminated material. The quantity and the disposal are itemised in the quote so there are no add-ons later.
Can the excavator reach a narrow terraced-house garden?
Usually yes. What matters is the width of the access and the ground along the way. During the survey we look at the approach and choose the machine size accordingly — if necessary we dig by hand and remove the spoil by conveyor.
