When cutting is allowed — and when it is not
German nature-conservation law prohibits cutting hedges and woody plants back hard, or down to the stump, between 1 March and 30 September; birds nest in them during that period. Gentle shaping and maintenance cuts that take only the new growth remain permitted. This is not red tape: breaches carry fines, and the deadline does not move because the hedge happens to be in the way. We therefore set the schedule so that rejuvenation cuts fall in the winter half of the year.
A fixed schedule beats call-outs
Care on demand ends up costing more than care on a plan: what runs wild for a year takes many times the work to catch up on — and some cut-backs are then only permitted again the following winter. So we agree a fixed rhythm, usually every two to four weeks in season, with defined tasks per visit. You get a plan across the year rather than an invoice by hours spent.

Frequently asked questions
Do you maintain gardens you did not build?
Yes. We look at the garden once, record its condition and propose a schedule. For badly overgrown gardens there is usually a one-off clearance cut at the start, after which regular care takes over.
What happens to the green waste?
We take it away and dispose of it — unless you compost yourself and want to keep it. Disposal is itemised in the quote so it does not turn up as a surprise on the invoice.
